A Revolutionary Organisation: Renee Preston Officially Launches Construction For Women

On 29 February 2024, Construction For Women was officially incorporated as a Community Interest Company (CIC), marking a major milestone in the organisation’s mission to increase gender diversity and create opportunities for women in the construction industry.

To celebrate this achievement, on 8 March — International Women’s Day — Construction For Women hosted a gala dinner at the Mercure Manchester Hotel, attended by key stakeholders from across the construction and education sectors. Guests included representatives from tier 1 contractors, colleges, universities, and industry partners, coming together to mark the launch of this ground-breaking initiative.


Notable attendees and supporters included Gallaway Construction, Costain Group PLC, The University of Salford, Morgan Sindall Infrastructure, CITB, CECA North West, Salford City Council, Salford City College Group, Murphy, Vextrix, SLR Consulting, Site Contract Personnel Limited, ESP PLAY, Warrington & Vale Royal College, and John McCall Architects.


A Night of Celebration


The evening was a celebration of ambition, progress, and collaboration. Attendees enjoyed a formal gala dinner, providing the perfect opportunity to connect, network, and toast the founding of an organisation committed to transforming the construction industry for women.
