What We Do

Learn about how we're shaping a more diverse and equitable future for the construction industry

Our Approach

Creating real access to opportunity—where it’s needed most.

Construction For Women exists to remove the barriers that prevent women from pursuing and progressing in careers across the construction sector. Our work focuses on building targeted, meaningful pathways into industry by meeting women where they are—geographically, socially, and in terms of life stage or experience.

We support those who face the greatest obstacles to accessing the industry, including:

  • Women from low-income or underrepresented backgrounds

  • School-age girls who haven’t considered construction as a career

  • Women leaving the prison system

  • Career switchers and returners seeking practical re-entry support

Our programmes combine training, mentorship, community engagement, and employer partnerships to create holistic pathways into work. Whether through schools outreach, site-ready training, or post-release reintegration, we design interventions that lead to real employment—while working to reshape the culture of construction from the ground up.

Where We Work

Built to Scale. Designed for Access. Delivered Nationwide.

Construction For Women operates across the UK through a flexible, scalable model designed to maximise impact—wherever women need access to opportunity.

Our programmes are delivered both in-person and online, allowing us to reach participants in urban centres, rural areas, and everything in between. From site-ready training at various training provider locations to virtual mentorship for women in remote regions, our hybrid model ensures no one is left out based on location, background, or circumstance.

By working nationally while tailoring our approach locally, we’re able to:

  • Respond to regional employment needs and skills shortages

  • Deliver in communities where women face structural barriers to employment

  • Form long-term partnerships with schools, employers, and local authorities

  • Scale proven programmes to new regions without compromising quality

Our programmes are designed with mobility in mind—so as the industry evolves, we move with it. Whether you're a learner, employer, or stakeholder, we’re already working somewhere near you—or we can be.
